GHAP is a badminton club for gay, lesbian, bi-sexual and transgender (LGBTQ+) players in Manchester.
We welcome a range of abilities and encourage people to play badminton at all levels and aim to provide opportunities for social activities, training and competition both at home and internationally.
GHAP is predominately a social club, playing with plastic shuttles on a Wednesday and Saturday at Manchester Academy.
We also field teams in the local badminton leagues, playing competitively with feather shuttlecocks.
All those playing for the league teams have to be full fee-paying members of the club.
Whilst we no longer have an official 'advanced' night, there is an informal feathers practice night on a Tuesday organised by Ross Owen and Christina Constantinou for those who prefer to play with feathers or wish to improve.
